Our Golden Boy, Friday
And so we come to Friday, the rockstar employee of the week. Everyone’s favorite day. He always makes the sale, turns his receipts in on time, and while he’s at it brings in coffee and home-made sour cream coffee cake for the whole office. What’s not to love?
So this Friday has big shoes to fill. Let’s be honest, it’s not quite as easy as it looks. It’s a lot of pressure to put on one guy. Are his feet going to be big enough, or does this Friday not have what it takes? You tell us!

First you brought rain, and not small quantities of it, either. Enough rain that I had to cancel dining out plans due to probable flooding in town. Then, you hoodwinked me into accepting an invitation to meet new friends tomorrow evening before I knew they wanted to go do…karaoke. I do not deserve that fate, Friday.
Granted, it’s only 9 am, but I’ve been thinking since yesterday that today was only Thursday. How can I properly review Friday when I’m a day off? If today were Thursday, it’d be an ok day so far, as it stands, Friday is bringing on a very busy weeekend, what with my kid’s birthday and my fantasy football league’s draft. I wish I’d taken a hiatus from today to fuel up for the weekend. In the meantime, Friday can stick around as long as it continues to make runs to the gas station for this delicious soda and muffins.
Friday, you brought the police into the neighborhood before the sun. This kept my dog barking for most of the night, which led to not a whole lot of sleep. Just take yourself, Wednesday and Thursday, and get the hell out, now!
oh Friday! You brought a full night’s rest, a great breakfast at a diner, and a trip through the awesome Seattle Art Museum. Shortly, a late lunch with a good old friend. You rock.
Friday’s ok. Not spectacular, as I am suffering from a day of major diet resentment, but still, it’s Friday. It’s hard to go wrong with a day that hands you into the weekend.
Dear Friday, I am too ashamed of all the abuse you’ve reaped on me to discuss it in public. But even if you offered to pay the bill of the therapy I now need from all you’ve done to torment me, I still can’t find a way to forgive you.
I can’t deny it, Friday has been good to me. Most of this was due to the chance to pop in to Starbucks where I ran into my old regular barista that I used to chat to everyday, but who I thought had left. Turns out he just moved to a different shop.
