Monday’s on Trial

The jury is convened, and two smartly dressed attorneys stand behind oaken tables that were assembled shortly after the establishment of the court in the mid 1800s. The court reporter sits at her peculiar machine, waiting for the utterances of both sides. The evidence is presented. The questions are asked. The interrogations completed.

And now, the jury weighs in:

Friday, Thanks for Coming In. Have a seat?

  • Friday, you're getting a raise. And a puppy. (25%, 3 Votes)
  • Friday, good work! Nice letter of rec in your file. (42%, 5 Votes)
  • Friday, neither a borrower, nor a lender, are you. (17%, 2 Votes)
  • Friday, your attitude needs work. Shape up, yeah? (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Friday, you are an abject failure. Get lost. Or, rather, Guido and Nails will help you with that. (17%, 2 Votes)

Total Voters: 12

Monday. I’ve got your Monday right here.

I think the weather turning beautiful while I was stuck inside was probably about all I need to say about this Monday. It did its dead level best to be a frustrating pain in the ass that would only smile and flirt with you when it got yelled at. So, we fired it. For inappropriate behavior.

Lee scribed, “Though it was an obvious outcome, I’m firing today for bringing a definitive end to my relaxing weekend, along with a scratchy throat and, this afternoon, a headache. Come back, Monday, when you can be more cordial.”

Sabre scrawled, “Monday has brought unresolved plumbing issues, again. I know, I shouldn’t be surprised, but I had hope. Monday has also brought unrealistic expectations for my schedule today and has basically just set my teeth on edge.

Might as well get in the soup line now, Monday. There’s no turning back from here.”

and INCyr wrote, “Back from a wonderful weekend at my brothers wedding, and what do you give me monday? A headache, and a bunch of shit that I don’t want to do. While I understand doing shit is what work is about, you didn’t need to be so mean about it.”
