Is Today Fired?

Thursday just left. She turned in her resignation before I could fire her. She got her own recommendations from other places, and she’s out of our hair. Oh well. I suppose it was time to go. But, for fun, here’s the scoop from her personnel file:

Goddess, not holding back at all, wrote, “Thursday, you would look better on fire.”

Banzai had it about right, “Thursday, I really don’t like you. You’ve heaped additional work on me and it’s looking like I’m going to have to make an emergency business trip to fix the damage. But I’m too tired to fire you. So go on with your fashionable shoes and your trendy bag and strut your stuff someplace else. I can’t be bothered.”

G’bye Thursday. Maybe you won’t suck at your next job.

Thursday strolled in with new shoes and a brand new bag. This is the kind of thing that in the office causes a lot of talk. Is Thursday interviewing somewhere? Does she have a date? Did she get a raise that can let afford those new kicks?

Why’s it always gotta be like that? Can’t Thursday just look nice for a change? Tell her she has good taste, and invite her to join you and the gang at lunch. You don’t always gotta hate.
